Compaq Presario F700 XP Driver


 Please Install according to order:


Before installing the driver i strongly recommend to install the netframework, without the framework

Broadcom Wireless Driver (sp37950.exe)
Download

AUDIO/SOUND
Before installing audio driver, you need to install MS-UAA frist and restart.
1. MS UAA(required with a reboot before Conexant):
Download


Then Install the audio
Conexant SmartAudio 221:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34001-34500/sp34200.exe
 
Install the audio driver and ignore if there is an error.
1. Click on Start and select Run. Type DEVMGMT.MSC and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller".
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp34200 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.

LAN/ETHERNET:
Normally the ethernet will automatically installed after chipset driver installation, if not try this driver:

Note: (DO THIS IF NO LAN DRIVER INSTALLED AFTER CHIPSET DRIVER INSTALLATION)
1. extract the file.
2. Open device manager and look for network mark with yellow.
3. Right click and select update driver.
4. Select no to connect and select advance.
5. Browse to the driver folder extracted earlier. Continue with on-screen instruction.


MODEM:
Conextant Modem Driver
Download (sp33742) 
or
Download (sp37817)
(if direct install failed, install using the same method as audio installation)

  5. yes this is the driver for compaq c700, if in case some of the driver not work it can be solve by just, just refer to this articles:

    after that post your specific moedl here, i will find and give the proper driver, but the driver listed work on most of the compaq c700 series.

  15. No for windows 7 you will need to install graphic, chipset, sound and wireless/LAN from vista drivers. Other driver may work, if you need please request in request driver section

I installed Windows XP on my Compaq Presario F700 Notebook and i had no Sound.I donwnloaded the two drivers,and I installed them how it was explained.After this Windows shuts down with Blue screen error.I do not know what to do anymore...I installed also after this Windows 7 also,but from this appeared blue screen also.Please help me someone.Write to my email: optimuxprima32@yahoo.com

  23. Hi,plze i have formated my Compaq presario f700 from Vista OS to WIN-xp,but following all ways posted on this link ihave installed all drivers apart from Sound driver.Please ineed help because in device manager i cant get the word(HD) so that i can continue the next step.thank you.

  24. The Word not necessarily HD, just notice any audio marked with yellow in device manager and proceed.
    p/s: HD normally stand for HIgh Definition

  33. Can someone help me understand why in the world after downgrading my presario f730 to xp and installing all the correct drivers, my wifi just decided to stop working for no reason? I have the dreaded amber light that will not turn blue again. It's not listed as being installed or connected? It's internal so I didn't unplug or do I know how. Someone please help this thing is driving me crazy.

  34. First to check if the wireless drier installed correctly:

    1. Open "Device Manager" by click start and select RUN, type DEVMGMT.MSC and press OK.

    2. Look at the device manager if there any yellow exclamation (!) or question (?) device. If there are yellow device get the hardware ID and post it here.

    3. If there are no yellow devices, check under the Network Adapter and see what devices listed there

  46. Hi iffi, lets try another version of the audio driver, try this one:
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp30001-30500/sp30399.exe

    if still not working, get the hardware ID for your audio and post it here, you can refer to my tutorial to get the hardware ID:

    remember it is not recommended to use win xp service pack 3, even not proven yet but normally sp2 and below more stable with the driver.

  58. i have a compaq presario f700 and everything was working fine until i installed windows ex back on this computer. The wifi light was blue but now it stays orange. I cant get the wifi to work at all and when i slide the slider from left to right it stays orange, blue lets you know when the wifi is online. what can i do to get the driver or find out whats wrong?

    1. Hi jogen,
      This problem normally happen to other model too especially who use f700, c700, v2000 and v3000 Compaq model, normally the reason this happens are corrupted windows or hardware faulty.

      To solve this:
      perform system restore

      - click start - all programs- accessories - system tools- system restore.

      Select the date which the audio still working properly.

      If the system restore didn't work, you need to reinstall windows, if you still getting the same error and in device manager there are still no sound, game and video controller mean your audio devices is no longer working properly.

      Alternative solutions for the sound device faulty is you can get an external usb sound card to replace your sound chipset.

    Then Install the audio
