    please can someone help me out this is really driving me nuts, basically ive just downgraded from vista to xp on my compaq cq70 ive downloaded the xp wireless drivers but when i installed them on the laptop i get this msg “windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network”
    please can someone help me out, ive tried to uncheck the settings on the wireless network connection box where you go to the authentication tab to uncheck the enable IEEE 802 1x authentication for this network, but that was already unchecked, please help me out guys.

  5. instead of connecting to the network using the the windows default, how about using HP Wireless assistant, if there are still problem.

    open network connection, right click on your wireless network - properties - select Wireless Network tab.

    Click add, now enter the name SSID (the name of the network you try to connect).
    tick the box "connect eve not broadcast.
    Network authentication i suggest select open.
    The the encryption , first try to set it WEP and tick the box "the key is provide autmatically" or try disbale. (see which work).
    DO NOT tick on "this is a computer-to-computer..."
