B. Driver Version.

Fist of all, we will use previous driver version (windows 7 drivers) to Install. Here is the driver version list base on successful installation reported by users.

You can Google for the download link, I only provide download link for certain manufacture. you can use the driver from other manufacture but this will against TOS/License of the respective owners.

32-bit Version
1. Version 15.15.3.1855 Dell | Foxconn | Acer |

64-bit Version
1.  Version 15.17.17.64.2413 Zotac | Intel
2. Version 15.15.3.64.1855 Foxconn |

You can also test with your original windows 7 graphic driver or download the version available on the Intel download center.

Latest windows 7 driver from Intel.
Download Link -Intel Mobile 4 series
Download Link - Intel HD Graphics

Notes:
In-Box Drivers : Refer to driver provided along windows 8 installation. Windows will determine the best driver for your graphic and install them.  If you call tech center and they say you just need to use in-box drivers mean they are referring to "just use the driver which already installed and no need to install other driver".

C. Install Using Compatibility Mode

1. Uninstall Current driver on the device manager by right click and select unistall. To open device manager press windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and then press enter.

2. Then extract the drivers files and look for setup.exe file.

Which Driver should I use?
 My recommendation base on priority:

a. Latest windows 7 driver from Intel.
Download Link -Intel Mobile 4 series
Download Link - Intel HD Graphics

b. Your original windows 7 drivers. (Download your laptop from manufacture site.)

c. Test with driver version i listed on driver version.

d. Try to use different version you can get.

3. Right click and select properties - compatibility - run this program in compatibility mode for "windows 7" , the tick run this program as administrator. Apply then OK.

4. After that run the setup to install and do not reboot yet, first change windows updates setting to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". Reboot after Installation.

If failed, you may try with different version or move on by installing the mod driver below.

    1. Signed -means it is original (in this case originally released by Intel).
MOD (Modified) : Means changes has been made to the original file (altered).

During Driver installation, Windows will verify the driver signature for security purposes where a digitally signed drivers is verified and secured. Whenever a non-signed drivers is being installed, it will prompt that it can verify the publisher (who release the driver) to make sure you alert about the security and risk you might get.

Mod driver actually made by user in attempt to install older driver for newer system. Such as using windows xp driver for windows 7 operating system. By modding the driver, the newer operating system will accept the drivers instead of prevent the installation with this message "this driver is not design to work with this operating system". Why MOD and why not get the original drivers? Sometime manufacture does not provide the Signed drivers for old devices, so user have to create their own =)
      Hope this explains everything.

    3. First, Intel does not provide the drivers on their website, instead they already stated that the driver for your Graphic (Intel 4500 MHD) for Windows 8 is only available via Microsoft Automatic updates. This means you must turn on windows update in order to install the driver.

If you prefer to download the driver packages and install it offline, you can download it here:
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=8.15.10.2702 - Please open this link using Internet Explorer. (select no: 5 for 32-bit and no:6 for 64-bit from the download list)

Lastly, if you are having problem with OpenGL, try the drivers I provided on the post above (Intel Mobile R 4 Series (signed) ).

    5. I'm not sure, you may try coz I didn't test Windows 10 Technical Preview yet (already got the ISO, no time to install and play with it yet). If it uses similar platform as Windows 8 and 8.1, I think it should work.

    1. Open device manager, right click on Intel Graphic and select update driver, select search automatically for updated driver software. Make sure you are connected to internet.

Another way is to install Intel automatic tools to determine the best and up to date drivers available:

  10. I uninstall the initial driver, i get the black screen, force shutdown. On startup, i have no driver, seconds later: the same driver i uninstalled has reinstalled itself, giving me no way to install the proper driver. I have tried everything for months. Disabling device ID's, disabling updates, disabling everything that could possibly cause this. and yet it still updates itself. Win 10. intel mobile 4. is there a fix for this?
