  4. Ok note at the above post, there are broadcom, and atheros wireless driver, choose only one and you should remember which model ur wireless card, if you forget, try install one by one and see which work for you

  5. I tried the broadcom and atheros drivers but none of them work. I cant download the intel shirly one coz after sometime IE says connection reset etc.
Isnt there a way to find out what hardware i have & the compatable software? I have been stuck on this for the past 5 days now.

  6. yes, to check your hardware:

    1. Open device manager (click START and select RUN.
    2. type DEVMGMT.MSC in the search box and press ENTER/OK.
    3. A device manager will open, there look fo devices will yellow mark on it.
    4. Right click on the devices with yellow mark and select properties.
5.Then, Select DETAILS; there you will find a drop down menu.
    6. Select 'Hardware ID' from the drop down menu and you will find a code disply in the box,

normallly the line would be like this:

    PCI/VEN0305_bal bla bal
copy that line (highlight and press CTRL + C) and paste it here.

If you need a guide with pictures you can refer to this tutorial:
