This model only have one slot and no additional second slot and the RAM is soldered on the motherboard.
RAM INSTALLATION.
Unlike any other laptop, you need to soldered the RAM into the motherboard. It is quite technical and it is recommended not to do it yourself if you does not know how to soldered it.

ReplyDeleteUsing the Linux command "dmidecode -t memory" it says there is 2 memory slots, one of them empty. Not sure if it's showing the real specs of the computer. Soldering a RAM module on the motherboard is indeed a delicate procedure. I just wondering the possibility of upgrading RAM on this PC just by soldering a second module (same characteristics of the other one of course) on that, supposed empty slot. Even considering that I'm a tech student and that I already opened the laptop's case to change the HDD and the keyboard, it seems to me a highly risky operation.
ReplyDeleteIt is safer to replace the current one instead of adding another ram, my main concerned is would it be able to boot up with current BIOS. Is there any BIOS patch/ver that we know would worked
