Audio Installation Instruction:
1. Run the drivers, ignore the error, it will create a SP34386 folder located at c:\swsetup\sp34386.
2. open device manager (click start on the search box type DEVMGMT.MSC and press enter)
3. right click on audio with yellow mark, select update driver,
4. select browse my computer for device driver software.
5. select let me pick from a list of devices driver in my computer.
6. next, select have disk, browse to c:\swsetup\sp34386. select the inf files and continue with on screen instruction.

Other method to install audio.
1. The basic principle is to get your original Windows Vista driver or windows XP driver.
2. If you are using windows Vista driver (version 4.42.0.0) install it manually or using compatibility mode.
3.  If you are using windows XP Driver, you can install it manually or MOD the driver first before installation. To do that download the driver above and follow the instruction here on how to mod the driver.

Instruction:
1. Install the drivers and ignore the erro. We just want to extract the driver into c:\swsetup\sp39558

      You need to test each 3 drivers I posted above, or you need to provide me your wireless hardware ID in order to identify which driver you need to install.

    the driver i gave work on most c700 model but not all, to get the proper audio driver for your model, get me the hardware ID or check your specific model.

    Hi there, for your information HP doesn't provide windows 7 driver for this model, So in order to get the proper driver, people like me try to figure what we should do to get C700 the proper driver after installing windows 7, and i tested windows vista driver worked for win 7, so that why some of the drivers are originally vista drivers

    1. Maybe the CD/DVD dirty, scratch etc.
    2. If it happen to all CD/DVD - do system restore.
    3. If not work the last option is reformat to win 7 or win xp, vista have a lot problems and believe me it is not a stable OS.
    4. If reformatting the problems not solve, you have a faulty DVD/CD. I hope you know that the life of DVD/CD device is depend on how much you use it, Normally after 1000 read and write, it will start to have problems.

    I can't find audio drivers that suits for it, I try to download many audio drivers, even in realtek, and even the audio driver you have given, I follow the instructions but, it never work with my pc, I like sound for it, even my father wants it, please help hhe

      it is refering to microsoft universal audio architechture which missing, what is your model (c700 is the general seres, look at the back of your laptop and you will find the specific model such as compaq presario c745tu etc) your os (win 7 32 or 64 bit)?

      Hi again, there's no information about your model, so it is difficult to get the original audio drivers. What i have to do is mod the original driver first, this method most of the time works.
      So, while waiting for the back stickes, here what you can do, post the snapshot of your device, and write everything you can get from the back stickers of your laptop.

      So, I've done my research tonight and i got few solutions. I will continue to look deep into this problem and will post a long instruction later on (bear with it =)). For now i just need one more clarification, try to put headset/earphone to audio jack and let me know if the sound working or not. Then try to play any audio file and if there is error let me know the error statement.

      P/s: Just for you Information:
      This problem is common with windows XP and not windows 7, the best thing that can explain why this happen is using an incomplete or modified version of windows which missing few important drivers file. The hardware ID show 2 things, the chipset wasn't fully installed or the system is missing the core files for audio. It's referring to ICH8 chipet component and also referring to Microsoft Universal architechture bus. One thing we can check is there are no hdaudbus in this location: C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ DRIVERS \ hdaudbus.sys. So, later on i will post the best solution i think can solve this problem, for now i want to research for few more hours before come up with the suggestions.

      The current OS you are using was modified version of windows because as you can see from the pic you posted :

      it state "Windows 7 Extreme edition'. This windows is a project from certain individual or third parties which mean the content, system files etc was modified added/removed.

      About no audio from the headphone means your system is missing something, if there are sound there are other solution for that. Talking from one perspective, the situation is like this " your system detect you have audio hardware, it installed the audio hardware drivers which is conextant, and there are no error/bug in the system so it read it is working properly , that's why you can play audio file but no sound from it".

      Well, OS in not my field of expertise and i can't comment about it in details, btw I'll try to post my suggestion a.s.a.p

      So here my suggestion:

      (make restore point first before proceed)

      1. Windows Update:
      -check for windows update, see if there any update for the drivers and only install driver related to audio.

      2. Automatically detect drivers using intel:
      go to this site:
      http://downloadcenter.intel.com/
      then select automatically detect drivers.

      3. Uninstall conextant audio from the device manager by right click and select uninstall. Right click on any list there and select scan for hardware changes. The install the drivers i provide above.

      4.Remember the driver i gave to you from this link:

      Open the folder and you will find 3 files which is: KB888111, there are 3 of them and try to install all by right click and select as admin.

      If anything goes wrong perform system restore.

      I have tested with c700 using windows 7 (home premium version), it seems that the audio detected but no sound come out. Even with some tweak the driver installed successfully but no sound at all.

      So i reinstalled ultimate edition and the audio work fine, instead of using conextant audio, the generic audio driver installed along windows 7 ultimate edition is working compare to conextant itself.

      I think reactivating windows will not solve your problems, how about try to install different version of windows, (win 7 professional, ultimate etc).

      First of all not all c700 series have bluetooth device, if you have bluetooth you need to activate the bluetooth first before installing the the bluetooth found on my blog. Normally the are combination key such as Fn + (certain button), the button should show the bluetooth symbol. Another thing to do is to let Broadcom detect the best bluetooth drivers for you. To do that just simply visit this site:
      http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php
      Check device manager to see if there are any device marked with yellow, it could be the bluetooth device.

      You don't have to upgrade BIOS, It is a common problem cause by overheat during the windows 7 installation process. Since the installation process consume a lot of power, (that's why you can't install windows 7 without power chord plugged) the amount of heat released sometimes give problem to old model such as acer 4520, v300 and of course c700.

      The best thing to do now is:
      1. Put a fan (left side) near to the laptop, a home fan would be better.

      2. There are code written during the BSOD such as STOP: 0x000000F4. Post the error code here. Sometime certain hardware could be the culprit.

    I have Compaq Presario C700 win 7, I have a lot of problems lately.
    1. It reads my iPhone4s through itunes but it does NOT do the same for my Sony Xperia ZR and Samsung units. It does not recognize the units even if the Sony PC Companion and Samsung Kies were installed in my laptop. What seems to be the problem here?
    2. For wifi connection; it displays UNIDENTIFIED NETWORK without internet access though the internet functions properly in other devices.
    Are there missing drivers? Please help. Thanks a lot in advance.

      Smart Phones Problems:

      1. Try uninstall PC companion/Smasung kies and plug in the smart phones, wait 2 minutes see if "new hardware found" pop-up. It will automatically install the drivers needed.

      2. Sometimes windows mistakenly detect the device as unknown device etc. So open device manager and check if there any device marked with yellow. (read tutorial with picture here). Then let me know the name of the device and make sure to plug inthe phone into the usb first.

      Wifi problems.

      IF it happened just few days/weeks ago just perform system restore to restore your wireless setting.
      Normally certain program such as antivirus/firewall/protection software is the problem. They block your connection whenever your try to connect to any access point. Try disable the internet protection, example if you are using macafee disable the macafee network agent will resolve your problem. Remember what software you recently installed. It might be the culprit.

      I have done all the things you have mentioned.
      1. I uninstalled PC Companion/Samsung Kies and plugged my smart phones for more than two minutes, unfortunately it did not work. Both devices (Sony Xperia ZR and Samsung) were not recognized.
      2. I followed the tutorial you have provided and found out that the HD Audio Softdata Fax Modem with Smart CP has a yellow mark. I downloaded the driver found here and intall it but it was not successful. FAILURE message appeared on the last step.
      I also tried uninstalling programs but it always leads me back to nowhere.
      The only way I can connect to internet using this laptop is by putting it on a safe mode and restoring system to a specified date wherein internet connection is made.
      Once I shut down the unit and open it later, the internet connection will again be UNIDENTIFIED. I tried to do the system restore on normal windows (not on safe mode) but it is not successful.
      My apology for I am not too techie, I just basically follow the step by step process I am given.
      Seems that I have a messy laptop and needs replacement, what do you think?

      Your windows seems to have "something" (program/services) that interfere with the internet connection. Safe mode on the other hand disable most of the program and unwanted background service so that is why you can make connection in safe mode.

      I agree if you can afford a replacement, but try to re-install windows 7 again (fresh install). I thinks you will be able to connect to the network without problems. Remember not to install antivirus or certain program that controls windows security. If you send it to repair store to re-install windows 7, it will only cost you few bucks.

      "HD Audio Softdata Fax Modem with Smart CP" is not important and not related to current problems.

      So here is my suggestion:
      ( I recommend to Re-install windows 7 first (if you able to do so))
      1. Internet connection : Boot into safe mode and select the earliest restore point available.
      2. About your phone, right click on the PC companion/Samsung kies and select troubleshoot compatibility and see what happens.

      Hi, it is a common problem and there are several factors that cause this including defect keyboard. However you can try to fix it with steps below.

      First of all, try to clean the keyboard with brush tools clean it.
      After that press the key associated with the problem diagonally for couple of seconds. See if it works.

      You can also try system restore, during the initial system restore process, it will have an option to select the restoration date, select date where your keyboard is working properly.
