Here is my initial suggestion windows 7 driver for this model, so your feedback are really important to help me get the appropriate drivers.
CHIPSET:
(I'm not sure if this needed but i believe it use nvidia chipset)
NVIDIA nForce 650i Chipset Driver
Download
or use your original chipset drivers: Download
or vista drivers:
GRAPHIC:
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Graphics Driver
NVIDIA GeForce 7150M Graphics Driver
Download
If failed
Try your windows Vista drivers:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38001-38500/sp38221.exe
Install it and if failed ignore it. We just want to extract the driver.
Open device manager (click start and type DEVMGMT.MSC on the search box and press enter)
Under Graphic Adapter it will show Standard VGA - right click and select UPDATE DRIVER - Select BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE - Then click BROWSE and point to C:\SWsetup\SP38221 and select the inf file - continue with on screen instruction and reboot).
AUDIO:
Realtek High Definition Audio drivers
Automatically installed
You can also try using the original Vista driver and install it using device manager similarly with Graphic installation:
Realtek audio for Vista: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35314.exe
WIRELESS:
Normally it also installed along windows installation. There are 3 applicable wireless drivers for this model so there are quite a lot to cover. I will not discuss about it here unless someone need help on this one.

Normally after installing the chipset driver, it will automatically install LAN driver, however if you need it:

This also the vista driver and install it using device manager.

CRAD READER:
I dont find any information regarding the card reader. If you need this driver (if you believe this model have it) get me the hardware ID for the devices. Normally HP and COMPAQ model only use Texas or Ricoh card reader. Very rare use realtek card reader.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteFew things worked. Few things didn't. My major concern was graphics drivers and it worked. The other major concern is webcam and the drivers provided didn't really work :(. Bluetooth worked. Fingerprint didn't work. Modem and Sound has been detected automatically. Haven't tested LAN but looking at device manager, it seems to be working.
Finally card reader. I need drivers for it badly. How do I get the hardware ID for it?
First of all thanks for the feedback.
ReplyDeletenote that at the device manager there are devices with yellow mark, get all the hardware ID for the devices marked with yellow.
