Toucpad is very important as it is widely used in laptops. There are issues with certain Acer E series using Windows 10 which the touchpad does not work properly. Her is how to fix it:
1. First install Intel Serial IO chipset driver for Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 from acer download center. You can also use the driver below (direct link form acer).

Windows 8.1 : Download (This is from E series)
2. Extract the driver files and install in compatibility mode for Windows 8.1.
3. You will need to restart after installation finish.
4. Go to Acer download page (select your model form the list) and download Touchpad driver and install. You will see elan and synaptic touchpad driver. You can choose which one you like to install.

5. Restart again after installation finish. If your touchpad does not work, press and hold Fn key and the press F6 or F7 key on your keyboard to enable touchpad.
Other methods that worked .
There are other solution that reported worked to solve this issue.
1. Uninstall the touch pad driver and reboot. That's it! then restart.
2. Make system restore (not for laptop newly installed windows).
3. Use Microsoft update for latest drivers.
4. Uninstall current touchpad, go to acer website and locate your model. Download and install either syanaptic and elan touchpad driver.
Upgrading BIOS is another alternatives, but it is too risky if you does not know how to do it. You might end up not be able to use your laptop.
For example, Acer aspire E5-474G have a firmware update for Toucpad under BIOS section. They put a warning which said "Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer product. Please proceed with caution."
