Driver Uninstallation

Device manager uninstall: Enter Device Manager -> Expand related device then Right click and Select "Uninstall device" ->Select the box for "Delete the driver software for this device" and Click "Uninstall" -> Wait a moment-> Reboot the system -> Done

Turn On Wireless Using Keyboard:
Various method base on your notebook model and physical switch/keyboard specification.
1. Press Fn + F5
2. Use the slide button.
3. For certain model there are big aeroplane symbol on keyboard (F7 key), use that to turn on and off.
4. For latest Thinkpad use F8

I only listed important driver for this model, there are certain tools and utility I skipped mainly because it is not actually a driver, but just a firmware and stock software and utility which does not affect your laptop devices functionality.

Which Driver to Install?
1. Install all drivers except for wireless and Graphic.
2. Graphic Driver : There are 2 types of graphic driver which is Intel HD and Nvidia graphic driver, you must choose base on your specification. You can also check on device manager, if there are Nvidia graphic listed then it is confirmed that you have Nvidia graphic, if it doesn't then you only need to install Intel HD graphic.
(example model with Nvdia - dual graphic)
3. Wireless : there are more than 1 drivers you can choose (Intel, broadcom and atheros) , select base on your specification.

Additional Information for Windows 8/8.1
1.Compatibility mode
You can install webcam, card reader, fingerprint, Bluetooth, youcam, touchpad and fingerprint using your original windows 7 driver. All you need to do is right click at the driver file and select properties. Then select compatibility - run this program in compatibility mode for - select "windows 7" from the list.


2. Intel HD Graphic : This model use either Intel or Nvidia graphic, the good news Nvidia released support for windows 8 and 8.1, while Intel did not (for Intel HD 1st generation). That is why you need to install either in compatibility mode or use the MOD driver develop by users like you (non-profit individual).

Drivers for windows 8?,
Lenovo only release for windows XP and 7, so where did i get the windows 8 drivers?

I download each and every single drivers, look at the information, download available version for windows 8 and compare. I did some research with compatibility issue, look at newest vendor and part site for any update for windows 8, it takes about 2 days to complete the list. So i hope if there any comment or feedback to improvise do let me know by leaving your comments below. Thanks. Base on my experience, windows 8 will installed most of the drivers, so you just need to check which driver you need and install them It is not necessary to install all driver if you know which functionality is missing such as audio or networking.

WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS
Lenovo released an official application to update your system for Windows 10. You jest need to download the Thinkvantage system Update utility here:

So fat the problem with this notebook after upgrade was the Elan Touchpad which I will cover it on this post. If you want to get the individual file for eaach driver and want to install it manually, you need to get it from the device manufacturer website. To make it easy below is the list for the download link:

IMportant: If your drivers working properly, you doesn't need to install any drivers, just download which is missing, if your audio is not working just download audio and install it.

Automatically installed, if you want to get the latest drivers just use this tools: Automatic detection, don;t worry this tools is free and officially from Intel.

Other drivers:
Just use Windows 8 or Windows 7 drivers I postwed above and install in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or 8.

 Touchpad issue:
Do not let automatic update install the touchpad or it will cause it unstable. The other thing you can do is download and install driver released by lenovo here:

Lenovo 3000 Y400 Windows 7 Driver

This weekend i got my hand on this model Lenovo 3000 Y400 to fix the OS. First time i look at it, no wonder, it is an old model (without looking at the specification), additionally it use windows vista.
During the windows XP installation, the DVD not work properly and cause incomplete installation which lead to driver installation failure.

SPECS:
Then i look at the specs -1.0GB ram and CORE DUO processor .then this make my job easy, installed windows 7. (note: dun judge the notebook by its cover)

WINDOWS 7 DRIVER:
All of the driver installed automatically except:

1. 3 BASE SYSTEM DEVICE : RICOH CARD READER
2. UNKNOWN DEVICE : refer to ENERGY CUT

1. RICOH CARD READER:
Download this driver:
Download
(install by double click at it)

2. ENERGY CUT
Download this driver
Download
(install by right click and select run as admin)

OTHER DRIVERS:
I don't have to install other driver since it's automatically installed. But if incase you need it:

1. AUDIO:
ADI audio driver:
Download
1. Right click on aud02us24.exe and select extract (extract the driver).
2. Open the extracted folder and you will find SETUP.EXE.
3. Right click on setup.exe and select COMPATIBILITY - select run this program in compatibility mode for "WINDOWS VISTA".
4. click APPLY and OK.
5. Right click again on SETUP.EXE and select run as admin.

2. BLUETOOTH:
Widcomm Bluetooth:
Download
If direct installation failed, try method similar to installing audio.

3. GRAPHIC:

INTEL GRAPHIC:
It should installed automatically, if not run automatic update. you ill see the updates for your graphic.

In case you have NVIDIA:
nVidia Go 7300 (Dedicated)

4. WIRELESS:
Automatically intstalled, IF not:

There 2 wireless: INTEL and BROADCOM.
INTEL: auotmatically install or you can check at windows update.
BROADCOM: Download (install similarly using audio installation method).
