ACPI\MSFT0101 - Intel Trusted Platform for Windows 7

ACPI\MSFT0101 (Intel Platform Trust Technology (Intel PTT). This feature only for Windows 8< for Windows 7 you need to install Intel TPM (Trusted Module Platform)

1. Download hot-fix provided by Microsoft:
Update to add support for TPM 2.0 in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

2. Disable TPP on BIOS.
Open BIOS, normally by pressing F2 upon boot screen(the key might differ from one model to another), go to security - advance and disable the Intel Trusted Platform.

" Intel Platform Trust Technology (Intel PTT) is a type of virtual TPM. It resides in the FW of your NUC and is controlled by the system BIOS. The version of TPM it emulates is TPM v2.0, which is not recognized by Windows 7.

The hotfix from Microsoft will resolve the unknown device/yellow bang in Device Manager but will not make it usable. This is true for PCs that have a HW TPM v2.0 as well. There is no support for them under Windows 7 and no way to get them to work. TPM v1.2 and earlier are the ones supported by Windows 7.

 For the ACPI\MSFT0101 unknown device you can also simply disable Intel PTT. On Intel NUCs Visual BIOS: BIOS Setup Advanced - Security - Security Features pane - uncheck Intel Platform Trust Technology. Intel PTT was created as a way of satisfying Microsoft's requirement that Client PCs have a TPM for newer Windows products (8.1 and later).

Intel(R) 100 series chipset family CSME for WIndows 7

1. You need to install this driver manually and this method tested and worked with HP 15 Notebook.
2.Kernel-Mode Driver Framework 1.11 (KB 2685811) must first be installed if you are using Windows 7*.

3. To install this driver download the driver package from Intel website and unzip the driver file. We will need it later.

4. Then open device manager, look for Intel(R) 100 series chipset family CSME device (normally listed under other device).

7. Continue with on screen installation until finish and reboot.

How to Fix USB Keyboard not detected in Windows 7

USB keyboard is plug and play device. Windows automatically installed generic USB keyboard once you plug it on your computers. There are 2 main reason why your USB keyboard not detected in Windows 7 , the first one is windows installed wrong driver, and the other one is your generic keyboard driver files are missing.

Prevent Windows Automatically Installing Drivers

If you are connected to the internet, Windows will obtain the USB keyboard driver from Windows update. Once it installed the wrong driver, your USB keyboard will not work. What you need to do is stop Windows from automatically install driver.

1. Open control panel.
2. Choose devices and printers.
3. Right click on your computer Icon.
4. Select device installation Setting.
5.Select "No, Let me choose what to do"
6. Select "Never install drivers from windows update".

Other things to check:
1. Make sure to test your USB keyboard on other PC to make sure it is still working.
2. If your keyboard comes with installation media, reinstall the driver could resolve the issue.
3. If you have USB 3.0 port, make sure you USB is compatible with USB 3.0 slot.

ASUS X553MA Windows 7 Installation Drivers

ASUS X553MA pre-installed with windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Actually you can install Windows 7 for this notebook. Before installing Windows 7, you need to change BIOS setting by selecting Windows 7 on OS selection Menu.

Windows 7 Installation:

1. upon power on press F2 to enter BIOS.
2. using arrow key select ADVANCE.
3. On OS selection, select Windows 7.
4. Press F10 and press enter (Save and Exit).
5. Now you can insert Windows 7 installation disk and continue to install windows 7. Just make sure to change the first boot selection.

After that you can install Windows 7 using USB or DVD installation disk. Here are the drivers you need to install for Windows 7. Fix "A CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" during Windows 7 Installation

One of the classic error I always get since windows 7 release is "A CD/DVD drive device driver is missing". If you have a driver floppy disk,CD,DVD or USB Flash Drive, please insert it now.

 Solution: Disable USB 3.0 on BIOS
-Enter BIOS and look for USB 3.0 setting.
-Select Disable or if disable option is not available select Auto.

IF you are using DVD to Install Windows 7
This error pop-out when you have faulty Windows 7 installation DVD. You need to create new Installation disk (Using new DVD). Faulty Windows 7 installation disk could be your DVD disk or DVD drive faulty. The best way is to create a bootable USB installation disk.

IF you can't disable USB 3.0
If your computer BIOS does not have an option to change the USB 3.0 setting, you need to integrate the USB 3.0 driver into your windows 7 installation disk. You can obtain USB 3.0 drivers from your computer manufacturer download page. The most common USB 3.0 port used on current computer and laptop is Intel USB 3.0 which you can download the driver software from Intel website.

HP Pavilion 17 Drivers for Windows 7/8/10

HP Pavilion 17 design to use with Windows 8 and 8.1, that is why only Windows 8/8.1 Drivers available on Official HP Download driver and software. If you want to downgrade into windows 7 or upgrade into Windows 10, here is the drivers you will need.

Asus website only provide Windows XP drivers for this board. For Windows 7, after windows installation you will find the following drivers is missing:

HP Pavillion g7-2269wm Windows 7 Drivers

HP Only provide Windows 8 drivers for this model on their website. If you not a fan of windows 8 and want to use Windows 7, you just need to install windows updates to get most of the drivers. Most of the drivers automatically installed along Windows 7 installation such as Audio, Graphic and Wireless.

You will notice in Device manager there will be 2 drivers missing. They are:

PCI device and Universal serial USB controller. So it is easy to identify what drivers we need by looking at the hardware ID.

PCI device:  -  Refer to Card Reader

Universal serial (USB) controller - Refer to USB 3.0 -PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&SUBSYS_184B103C&REV_03

USB drivers will provide the drivers so that your computer recognize your USB 3.0 and make it usable. The USB Filter driver on the other hand will provide power management and performance optimization.

Windows won't boot without flash Drive/USB Drive/CD

This problem cause by bootloader, a program that load your operating system. So, if your hard disk (internal) does not have the bootloader it won't boot to windows because no program will load your operating system (Windows XP/7/8/10 etc). In one case (Asus Notebook) the bootloader not installed in C partition (the windows partiton he use to install windows) but installed on the USB disk. So, without the USB disk he can't boot to windows.

So here how to fix it:

First of all Insert you installation Disk (either DVD or USB Stick)

In Windows 8:
When installation windows appear Click Next - click Repair your computer

 click Troubleshoot
 click Advanced options
 choose Command Prompt
Then type: (press enter to execute the command and do it one by one)

bootrec / fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot 

Windows Vista/7:
It is the same method as Windows 8 you need to access the command prompt. to do this insert you installation Disk and select repair. Then select keyboard - Use recovery tools - Command prompt

The type the following command one by one and press enter after each line.

bootrec / fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot

You can also use Bootrec.exe by microsoft instead. I never try it and it is a lot to explain how to use this tools. so I just write the easiest method to fix this =p

Basically this model does support Windows 7 with Intel Pentium 4 Processor and 1GB maximum RAM. By default this model only shipped with 256MB or 512MB of RAM, so you need to upgrade the RAM first before upgrade, if not you n610c won't be able to run Windows 7.

Now let's move to Windows 7 drivers, what drivers does it need? Normally Windows 7 will try to install the drivers for your hardware base on previous information provided by Windows XP (upgrade form xp to 7). However, if you make a clean windows 7 installation (reformat the drive before windows 7 installation) windows 7 will be unable to get enough information on your specific hardware. So, here is the simple rule to obtain all the driver you need for Windows 7:

1. If your audio, wireless and any other hardware works, it means the driver for those hardware already installed so you doesn't have to install the driver for it. Example, your heard sound when playing music, no need to install the audio driver.

2. Run Windows Automatic update and download and install any updates for your device driver.

3. If there are any driver missing (how to check- read here) - or you need it, just download form the list below:

1. Install the driver , ignore the error (we just want to extract the driver file to C:\swsetup\sp29156)
2. Open device manager, look for network marked with yellow, right click and select update driver.
3. Select browse my computer for driver software.
4. Select browse and point to C:\swsetup\sp29156\Driver\w2kxp
5. Continue with on screen instruction until installation finish.

HP Compaq nc6400 originally released for Windows Vista. If you want to upgrade into Windows 7, do consider to use Windows 7 SP1 instead of Windows 7 and run automatic updates to get the latest update for your hardware and drivers. HP 15-r036tu Windows 7/8/8.1 Drivers

Hp only provides Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 8.1 64-bit drivers support for this model on their website. The main reason for 64-bit is HP 15-r036TU comes with 4GB of which is optimized for 64-bit operating system. I re-make the list here are the changes I've made to the driver list:
