    I have a compaq Presario V2000 and this did not install the audio driver for Windows 7 - It failed.

      I've a V2506LA. I had the same problem with Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio Driver and Win 7. I didn't find the driver, but...

      I fixed SP35558, another different driver and I got it. You have to download the SP35558 here:

      http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=ob-51288-1

      and run it. After it shows:

      "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the media device for this driver",

      go to the extracted folder of the SP35558 in the setup folder "C:\swsetup". Open the folder SP35558. There your gonna find a file "cp6308Ba". Open it with the NOTEPAD and you'll see the lines

      %*WDM_AMCAUD.DeviceDesc%=WDM_AMCAUD,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_308B103C

      Overwrite the lines with:

      Save and rerun "Setup64" from the same folder. It will fix your audio driver problem.

      The only thing you have to do is to replace the lines with "308E103C" for "3091103C". As you can see, it's easy.

      There is no Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio driver for Win 7 x64.

      It works...

      And enjoy your new Win 7

    I don't own the Presario V2140US, but I do own the M2000. go to HP's driver site, enter the name of your laptop in, and find the driver there. It will be one that should definitely work with your laptop. If it doesn't, chat with one of HP's support people. I did once and they solved my issue.

    Hi there,
    For V2641TS Audio windows 7, download this driver: SP32272_win7

    extract the files, then run SETUP to install, if failed, right click on the setup and select run as admin.

    If still fail,
    1. Open device manager.
    2. Right click on the audio with yellow and select UPDATE DRIVER.
    3. Select 2nd option "BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE".
    4. Click on browse button and point to the driver you extracted earlier.
    5. Continue with on screen installation.

      you will see there are tutorial how to get the hardware ID for the audio, right now i need you to get hardware ID for both audio and graphic, after that I'll assist you with further instruction.
