After microsoft released Windows 7, the things thats I have been thinking is the Dirver after the installation, something good about windows 7 is that i found the windows updates also search for the missing driver. I'd installed windows 7 in several laptop and found that most all of the driver installed automatically and if there are missing driver you can use the vista driver, I suggest that after the windows 7 installation finish, run automatic updates before the driver installation, many users said Vista is a failure becasue it consume large amount of RAM and often Hang with 1GB of RAM, also many application built for XP not compatible with Vista.
now i used windows 7 for my desktop, and sure love it, but have some problems to dual boot with XP and Linux (maybe we can call it triple boot =p), ill take my time to solve it, if you have any problems with windows 7, im willing to help, leave your comment

Ok i need to modified the driver, to do that i need your audio hardware ID. To get your harware ID:
ReplyDelete1. open device manager (click start select run and type DEVMGMT.MSC and press enter.)
2. right click on Audio with yellow mark and select properties.
3. select details and on the drop-down menu select hardware ID, post it here.

u are welcome =), the first thing is my mistake coz guessing u r using 32-bit, normally after modified the drivers it will work. in ur case im thinking where i did wrong, lastly i check again your hardware ID and... it was 64 bit, anyway i feel great and happy coz it worked =)

ReplyDeleteI have a presario v5201us laptop upgraded from windows x to windows 7. It has 2 usb ports. To expand, I purchased a 3 port hub(ioggear). After 15 minutes or so, it stops working so whatever is plugged in no longer functions. Since installing windows 7, my touchpad has been acting crazy, the cursor is all over the place and it will open applications on the desktop on its own. I cannot find any drivers for my laptop thru compaq or hp. Can someone help?

evening, I using a compaq presario V3700. Since upgrading to win 7 from vista my lappie is experincing over over heating. I suspect its the graphic driver since its not Win 7 supported. Another option could b the BIOS. Any suggestions?

The temperature seems to runaway once application that utilises moderate graphics are started.
70-90 temperature for GPU for me consider to be very high, if changing windows might be the problem try switch back to vista, you can get your latest graphic driver from nvidia,

about the BIOS, im not really like to discuss it here because for me it quite risky to flash bios.
This problems always occurred especially for AMD model, here what i always do,
1. reduce start up program and background running program.

So far Windows7 is up and running. I found all drivers (including sound drivers, which took forever) but the graphics card driver to enable Aero. It's x64 version of Windows7. I hope you can help me find compatible graphics drivers! I'd love for my dad to have Windows7 working on his old machine.

Give me the link of the drivers you downloaded, I'll check it,most of the drivers are from FTP(the manufacture servers not from me). neither I created nor modified the files unless i tagged with MOD). So far u r the first person having this problems,I hope you aware that if the reason you formatting is virus, formatting C only clean C partition, and not others, and it will spread to C again.

ReplyDeletei decided to forget windows7 and installed UBUNTU 10.10 instead and it was the best decision i ever made. it runs so smooth on my dad's old compaq r3000 and now i don't have to worry about spyware and viruses.
i strongly recommend you give it a try. in case you don't know, UBUNTU is a linux-based operating system that's open source - meaning - it's absolutely free. it works damn good, too. i was surprised. you might need to have ethernet access to download driver for wifi card. other than that, everything else worked well straight away.

try direct install.
if failed, right click on the file and select properties, select compatibility, choose windows vista.
then right click again and select run as administrator.
If still failed, notice that in C driver you will have swsetup folder which contain sp47972.
So open device manager, right click on the webcam with yellow select update driver, select browse my computer for device driver and point to the sp47972 folder.
or dun select select the folder but instead select don't search i will choose the driver to install, select have disk and browse to sp47972 - driver - 64 folder and choose the inf file. continue with on screen instruction.
the webcam application you may use the youcam or this one:

note that this application compatibility must set to windows vista if direct install failed.
I tried to direct install it installed, and it needed me a restart, so i restarted..... but when i checked the device manager, there was no change...

then i tried to give update driver , then i browsed to the folder sp47972-driver-64, there was no inf file in it... so i gave the inf file in sp47972-driver, it showed HP webcam (VGA), so i gave ok.... but again there was and error saying "install class is not present or valid" ...

ReplyDeleteits kinda new problems for me, and it seems in other forum it also not yet solve, the big thing ive been thinking is your hardware id is:
USB\VID_04F2&PID_B057&REV_0818&MI_00
but most webcam hardware ID should look like this
USB\VID_04F2&PID_B057&PID_XXXXX
but, try to right click on webcam with yellow mark and select uninstall, restart and see if there any updates driver appear after restart, then get the hardware ID again, is it the same or different, or is it after automatically update it installed. i will look for more drivers, i studied many webcam drivers inf none of them seem to match your hardware.
also remember check the automatic updates, see if there any updates for your webcam, generally i found your webcam is HP (chicony) webcam.
report back the progress.

ReplyDeleteI have a problem with my compaq presario V3040TU. When I plug in headphone,the sound still comes from the laptop speaker.As if it does not detect headphone. Also, I cannot mute the sound coming from the speaker. I've tried uninstalling and installing the conexant audio driver for vista,but no changes occur. Really hope u can help..
karthikeyan, i suggest go with 32 bit, not 64 bit of windows.

ReplyDeletethere are several reason that it did not detect the sd card, first is make sure the driver for the card reader installed. To check this look at the device manager if it still mark with ellow. Second is the capcity support problem, if you Sd card larger than 2GB u may need to install other version of driver. but first check the device manager and report back, and what is you Sd card capacity
